Hexbound is a vintage, pixelated run-and-gun shooter. You are a hero in dangerous places where monsters and demons, robots, flying adversaries, and bosses can attack you from all sides. Survive each confrontation, manage health and resources, utilize weapons and spells properly, and finally get to the exit level.
Learn the three main objectives. Then learn to mix movement, weapons, and resources.
Keep moving: Strafe from side to side to make it difficult for enemies to hit you.
Keep your head up: Look around regularly so adversaries can’t surprise you from another way.
Use guns when necessary, not in every engagement.
Save magic: It could be the key to winning tough conflicts.
Protect yourself: Getting hurt early makes fighting later harder.
Don’t be stupid. Make better fighting decisions. Get better. The difficulty gets harder; therefore, these strategies will help you better.
Don’t use only one weapon. Various battles demand various tactics, and shifting armament helps.
If numerous opponents approach at once, think about which threat needs to be addressed first. Eliminating the most immediate threat can create enough room to engage the other foes without getting encircled.
Health should affect your choices as you play through a stage. You can get into a fight and take a lot of unwanted damage, which could leave you open to the next round of enemies.
If you can move to avoid an assault, do so. Survival isn’t about killing every enemy as fast as possible; it’s about reaching the exit with enough health and resources to continue playing.
As the game gets harder, you get upgrade points to make your hero stronger. Instead of picking upgrades without regard to your playstyle, pick upgrades that complement how you like to go about battle.
